Rick Beare

Hearing Instrument Specialist Lic. #1123

Growing up in Cape May, New Jersey, Rick saw firsthand the stigmas, denial, and challenges of hearing impairment in his family and friends. After college, motivated to help family and friends experiencing hearing difficulties, Rick became a hearing care professional in 1989 in southern New Jersey. He is national board certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences, holding numerous positions of responsibility and leadership over the last thirty plus years.

Recognized for his clinical expertise, Rick was recruited by a leading manufacturer holding various roles from regional manager, area manager, area director and director of corporate retail of 172 clinics from Minnesota to New Jersey. Traveling the country as an educator, he honed his skills as a troubleshooter, teaching clinicians how to maximize customers’ full hearing potential.

In 2003 he relocated to NC with his family where he served two terms as president of the North Carolina Association of Hearing Care Professionals and president of the Mid-Atlantic Hearing Care Professionals. While in these positions he worked with the North Carolina Hearing Aid and the Fitters licensing board to write a new license examination.

In 2019 Rick Joined HearingLife because of the shared commitment to “help more people hear better.” Of all of the roles he has held, the most rewarding is as a clinician to help customers maximize their full hearing potential as they begin ‘hearing life’ again.

Rick is a resident of Clayton, NC with his wife Cindy, married since 1979. Together they have three children keeping them active in sports and the Boy Scouts of America for over 42 years. He is an Eagle Scout with a three Palms, as well as still active in scouting as a leader and trainer, earning his Wood Badge teaching others to make a difference in the life of Scouts. He has earned numerous training awards and honors like the District Award of Merit, Distinguished Scoutmaster Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver for Distinguished Service to Youth. He has served as scoutmaster for two units currently serving as Scoutmaster to Troop 24 and Associate Advisor of Venture Crew 24 in Clayton, where in 2019, he was honored as the Scoutmaster of the Year. In his free time over the last 40 years, he has been an avid fly fisherman and fly tier pursuing all species with a passion for saltwater fly fishing.
