HearingLife’s People Who Care series is meant to introduce you to just a few of our many Team Members who serve you with professional, personalized care at our nationwide locations. Today’s feature is about one of our Patient Care Coordinators, who are the friendly faces that greet you when you visit our offices!
Denise Serhan is a Patient Care Coordinator at our Westfield, New Jersey HearingLife. She has been with HearingLife for 5 years and truly enjoys being a part of people’s journeys to hearing awarness – whether they have hearing loss or not.
Denise says she has always liked helping people – she previously worked as a licensed massage therapist. At HearingLife, she has helped people as young as 4 and as old as 102.
“Many patients and family members get very emotional with these journeys, and we are as well,” she says. “I still remember our customer who was only 4 getting his first hearing aids – he was all smiles in the office, and then quickly became overwhelmed when he stepped outside! It was so heartwarming to help him and know he could hear the world around him.”
Denise says one thing she wishes more people realized is that hearing loss does not discriminate – it can happen at any age – and treating it is crucial.
“I wish more people knew not to put a price on something that will help their overall health! No one should feel embarrassed to wear hearing aids. It's a large part of your health and your hearing affects so much more than just your ears.”
If you’re ready to see how well you’re hearing, schedule a complimentary hearing assessment at your local HearingLife today.
