HearingLife’s People Who Care series is meant to introduce you to just a few of our many hearing healthcare providers who serve you with professional, personalized care at our nationwide locations.
Filiberto “Alex” Gonzalez, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA is an audiologist who works at our Richmond, Virginia (Patterson Avenue) location. He has been an audiologist for six years and with HearingLife since 2021.
Alex became an audiologist because he saw it as a way to help people, explaining, “Our ability to communicate has a direct impact on our quality of life, so to help those in need is extremely rewarding.”
His favorite part of his job is counseling patients and helping educate them about hearing loss and their options.
“Counseling and education are paramount to having positive outcomes in treating hearing loss,” says Alex.
“A hearing aid is just the beginning of the journey to better hearing. Success is ultimately achieved through personalized follow-up care and support. And it is up to the audiologist to guide the patient through this journey, which I happily accept,” he says with a smile.
“The amount of untreated hearing loss in the U.S. is staggering,” Alex explains. “I believe that helping people with hearing loss is what I’m meant to do.”
